FAQs

Shipping Policy:

We do not ship daily. We typically ship once a week, although during high volume periods orders  may take up to 14 days to ship.

Unfortunately we cannot combine orders if you place multiple orders before they ship. Our shipping system is not set up to allow us to do so and attempting to accommodate people by combining orders has led to errors/incorrect order contents/etc that would not have been an issue if each order had been shipped individually.

Please be sure to provide a valid address when checking out! We reserve the right to charge additional shipping fees if your order is returned to us due to an invalid address which requires us to pay again to resend it! Please double check that the address is correct and includes apartment/condo/unit numbers when applicable as this is thing that typically causes orders to be returned.

Preorders- Preorders ship on the date specified. Any items added to an order of a preorder item will ship when the preorder is scheduled to ship. We have asked that no additional items be added to preorder sales at this time, but as we cannot prevent additional items from being added to your cart and purchased we ask that you understand and respect our terms of fulfillment.

We ship exclusively with USPS Priority Mail Service. Priority service includes $50 worth of insurance, if you would like to increase the insurance value please contact us at: florafungiapothecary@gmail.com to request additional insurance on your order.

We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged mail on behalf of the USPS.

If your order is damaged or lost, it is your responsibility to file a claim with USPS to claim the insurance value. You MUST have photos of the damaged item to show USPS, and occasionally they have requested the entire damaged package be turned over to them before they will payout the insurance. USPS claims can be filed here: https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm.

Returns & Refunds:

We do not accept returns or offer refunds unless it is due to an error on our part, or defective product.  We expect all customers to thoroughly read about the product and  ingredients/ allergens and make their own decision whether a product is right for their body/skin type.

Local Pickup:

If you wish to pickup your order locally in Arenac or Iosco County (Michigan), we are happy to coordinate a pickup. Please contact us BEFORE placing your order- we will give you a discount code to remove the shipping charge and schedule a pickup timeframe. Unfortunately we have had to remove the Local pickup option from the checkout section of our website after too many instances of out of state folks trying to cheat the system and not pay for shipping.

Shelf Life:

Natural products don’t last forever-nor should they! Here are the shelf lives of many of our products:

Salves, Serums, Massage Oils- 12-18 months

Hydrosols- 12-18 months

Lotions/Facial Creams- 6-12 months

The better you care for a product, the longer it will stay fresh. Keep all cosmetics out of direct sunlight and excessive heat or cold. Store in a cool, dry location with little temperature fluctuations. Always use clean hands to apply products as to not introduce bacteria into the container.

When will ____ be back in stock?

Working with the rhythms of nature means that not everything can be “in stock” at all times. When certain products sell out, we may not have access to the plants to make another batch until months in the future. Other products such as our lotions are made in small batches and restocked monthly or bimonthly. Sign up for our email newsletter (at the bottom of our homepage) and follow our instagram to stay in the loop about restocks, releases and more!

Do you use organic ingredients?

We use exclusively organic oils, butters and waxes as the base ingredients in our products. Most of the featured botanicals in our formulas are wildharvested or grown in our gardens. We are dedicated to producing products of terroir and work with farmers, beekeepers and earth tenders in our region to source top quality ingredients from the Great Lakes Region.

Do you offer workshops?

We will be releasing our workshop schedule for the coming season soon! Sign up for our email newsletter for the latest details. We will be offering a variety of educational opportunities this season, including plant walks, distillation workshops as well as a range of other classes on bioregional plants, herbal medicine, skincare, earth crafts and more.
