Pine Barrens Whipped Tallow Body Lotion
With the texture of a body butter and the absorption of a lotion this whipped tallow lotion is the best of both worlds- deep moisture and hydration for dry winter skin without a greasy residue. Both the tallow and the oil in this formula have been infused with many skin soothing plants found in the Pine Barrens ecosystem of northeast Michigan- the grass fed tallow and grapeseed oil are spun together with our artisan distilled hydrosols of Sweet Fern and Rabbit tobacco to gently hydrate the driest of skin. The scent is designed to mimic the warm woodsy aroma of the Pine barrens with notes of fresh pine, heartwood, sweet fern and dry pine needles crunching underfoot.

Grass fed Beef Tallow- Similar in composition to the oils our skin naturally produces, tallow is highly compatible with human skin and full of bioavailable nutrients including omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A,D,E and K.
Sweet Fern Hydrosol- Indigenous cultures across this continent have used this herb for centuries for its soothing anti-inflammatory properties and for skin conditions such as acne, rashes, eczema and even poison ivy. Sweet Fern’s strong antiinflammatory properties are thanks to high amounts of Beta-caryophyllene and alpha-humelene in the plant’s chemical composition.
Goldenrod: Goldenrod’s inflammatory properties have been used for centuries by herbalists to help heal wounds thanks to the plants anti inflammatory properties.
Jack Pine: We use fall Jack Pine tips that are dripping with resin in this formula- in addition to the antibacterial and antiseptic properties the resin helps form an occlusive barrier on skin to lock in moisture.
